33 wks

For all those living outside El Dorado, you can finally see me pregnant. This is Charlie in utero. Yes, we have decided on a name. I have about 6 1/2 wks until the due date (April 10), but only the Lord knows when he will be born. Since Jack was born past the due date, I'm not counting down the days like I did with him. But it seems like this pregnancy has gone so quickly, probably b/c Jack keeps me so busy. I am very thankful to be healthy and just pray for a healthy baby boy. It would be great if he were smaller than Jack (9lbs. 5 oz), but they say each baby usually gets bigger. AHHH! Can you imagine if Charlie were bigger?!
Charlie's room is just about ready. I'm still working on curtains and want to buy a little chair to rock and nurse in. As soon as I get it finished, I'll post some pics. We thought about Jack and Charlie sharing a room, but decided to wait until Charlie is sleeping through the night and they were on a more similair nap schedule. Its best for everyone if Jack gets a good night's rest!!

Fun with Grandpa

Well, I came down with the flu on Tuesday and Mark already had plans to go visit our good friend Daniel in New Orleans for the weekend. Since I was on the mend by Thurs, he went ahead and Jack and I headed to Mark's parents so they could help take care of Jack while I continued to recover. Here are some pictures of the good time Jack had w/ his grandpa Day.
This little horse was Mark's first birthday present. Jack loves it 26 yrs later!

Jack wanted Grandpa to hold all the teddy bears and then he wanted up too!

One of their favorite things to do together - play the Wii. This picture was actually taken a few weeks ago. Notice the yellow booster seat Jack is sitting in - also a blast from the past.

Grandparents Really are Grand!

We've had a fun week so far. Grandmother (my mom) came to visit us (Jack actually). They stayed busy, going outside before it became cold again, reading books, working on his new puzzle (see below), etc.

Who knew egg cartons could be so much fun?! They make great stacking blocks.

Such a smart kid!

Water Boys

Yesterday, we went swimming, one of Mark and Jack's favorite activities.

For those wondering, it is an inside pool and it is heated. They actually call this section of the water "the therapy pool". It has water jets at a bench where you can sit and get a "massage", but they were broken at the time :(. Sad news for a pregnant lady!

Splish Splash

"Weee!" Jack really likes this! Too bad you can't see his face due to the photograper's lack of experience. But you get the idea!

The Latest Travels

Well, we've been on the road the last two weekends and have a few photos to share. If some of the pics look familiar, its b/c they are borrowed. Thanks Ryan, Amanda ,and Angie!

Daniel and Laura's Wedding

It was great to see friends and be there for Daniel's big day!

The Bride and Groom's first dance as Mr and Mrs Bramlett.

Two prego ladies - Kim and myself

So good to see college friends - Angie and Amanda

I was tickling him in this pic to make him smile. And the wett spot on his shirt is drool, I think :).

Mark and Jack enjoying the reception. Well, at least it looks like Mark is!

And you may be wondering about a family picture of us all dressed up, but carrying around 23 lbs of an 18 mo old and 10 extra pregnancy lbs. was all I could handle. The camera stayed in the car.

Visit to My Parents

Jack opening Christmas gifts.

Jack and his Great-Granddad

Back at home playing w/ his new favorite toy - wooden blocks! Thanks Mom and Dad! And thanks David and Chrisana for the car!

Not only does he love the blocks, he likes the box as well. Notice the big smile, I'm teaching him to say "cheese" for the camera. Also notice dad in the background taking a siesta.

The Growing Family

This is baby boy #2 (we haven't decided on a name just yet). The ultrasound was taken at 21 wks and I am now 27 wks along, putting the due date at April 10. Jack and this little one will be about 21 months apart. I don't think Jack realizes whats about to take place, but he does enjoy pushing in my now outie (sp??) belly button. But I think after he gets over the fact that he has to share the attention, he'll be a great big brother. And for some unknown reason, Jack refers to all babies as "mama." So as we are shopping in Wal-Mart and he spots a baby, he points and says "mama". "Baby" hasn't entered his vocab yet. For those wondering what is in his vocabualary, he says "duck", "bath", "ruff" for dog, "moo" for cow,"ball", of course "mama" and "dada" and a few more, but thats all I can think of at the moment. However, he is picking up on baby signs very quickly now. So we are daily working on new words. Currently he knows horse, frog, fish, airplane, all done, hat. Oh, I almost forgot, his new most favorite word is "NO." Which explains what our days are like - haha.

The Beginning

(Jack and mac and cheese)

Well, I'm beginning a blog to share with those interested in keeping up with our lives here in El Dorado. With family and friends scattered all over the world, this is a good way to keep in touch. I don't have time to write much, but I wanted to post a few fun pictures to start.

In case you are wondering, this pic is actually the day after in front of El Inca, one of the two restaurants in Linden.

Jack was "helping" me fold laundry and thought his daddy's underpants made a good hat then scarf.
