5 wk Update

Can you believe this boy is only 5 wks old? He is a chunk! When weighed at 3wks old, he was 10 lbs 6 oz. Thats a gain of 2 lb. 9 oz. in just 3 wks! He doesn't miss a meal. And it looks like what we thought might turn out to be blue eyes, could turn brown. Which I read in a baby book that it actually takes 3 mo or longer before they turn the color they're going to be. Charlie is laying on the changing table that we moved into the bathroom, because we have to wash his bottom w/ soap and water after a stinky diaper. Just like Jack, wipes give him an awful rash. So we tried using wet paper towels and that didn't help either. We've moved the changing station closer to the sink since our bathroom is so big. We don't have to wash Jack's bottom anymore, although wipes still give him a rash, we just wipe him with a wet washcloth after using wipes. Ah, the joys of diapering! Oh, Charlie is sporting his blue Fuzzi Bunz here! His hair fell out on top, although the hair at the crown is still there.
We had to show you the fat rolls on his legs. Cruel parents, I know, but its so cute we had to share!

It was raining outside today, so Jack geared up in his rubber boots and rain coat. He even has a small umbrella that he likes to use inside rather than outside. Go figure!

He enjoyed pushing this stoller through a big water puddle! Sometimes he gives the soccer or basketball a ride.
Charlie is growing like a weed. His shirt reads "Unbearably Cute" and it is so true!!! I'm not biased at all :).
Notice the double chin.

Fast asleep in his mother's arms.

Good till the last drop! Mark recently introduced Jack to chocolate milk, which I think is disgusting, but to each his own. Jack just couldn't get enough!
"Mower" He can spot them a mile away anywhere we go. The other day we went to Wal-Mart to look at outside slides and play houses. He walked right past the playground equipment displayed to the push mowers. Here he is admiring the "mowers" in a newspaper advertisement.
One day he won't like these pictures, but I got a kick out watching him put on my dress shoes.

Eat, Sleep, and Play

Here are more pictures of our precious boys. Charlie is really growing and I think Jack is going through a growth spurt as well. Or maybe he just seems bigger since we have a tiny baby around. As you can see, Charlie's hair is strawberry blonde at this point and it looks like his eyes may turn out to be blue or green. But they could still turn brown.

Here is Charlie grinning as he falls asleep. It is the cutest thing!Like father, like son.
The Day men
Jack was eating this banana at supper tonight, and I said "say 'Cheese' for the camera" and he proceeded to do so. He is so funny!
Kim, the horse trainer here, and Jack playing with bubbles. She was making some huge bubbles!
The Little People posing for Jack as he practices his photography. (I was holding the camera while he took the pic.)
Jack playing with his beloved dump truck. All in a day's work!

Charlie's Arrival

We are so excited to announce the arrival of our second son, Charlie. Here is our first family picture taken at the hospital on Charlie's birthday. He weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz and was 20 1/2 in long. He was born at 9:05 am. Contractions started Tues night about 10:30pm and we started timing them around 12:30am and they were about 7 min apart and 30 sec. in duration. After laboring at home all night, we headed to the hospital at 7am. He was born just 2 hrs. later. I was able to get an epidural but I gave birth before it was able to take effect. So if you want to know what natural childbirth is like, I can tell you all about it :).

Jack loves his new baby brother. As you can see, Charlie has light brown, almost blonde hair. It will be interesting to see if it will stay that color. And his eyes are a light grey, can't wait to see their final color too.

Jack pointed to Charlie's eyes, ears, mouth and nose and then all those parts on himself. Jack really loved it when Charlie opened his eyes (which isn't too often, I forgot how much newborns sleep).

How he looked on his birthday. He already looks different from that day.

This was today. Mark is holding Charlie and Jack is trying to give Charlie his water. He has also been bringing Charlie balls, stuffed animals, and his pacifier. Right now he gets upset when Charlie cries, but hopefully he'll get used to it and not cry along w/ him.
